yTank or Why not?

I know your asking the question “Who is yTank?” Then you are asking the right question. So many times artist get over-looked and passed by without even getting a second look. The potential and skill of hip hope these days are broken. Don’t get me wrong I like the dance songs and the beats that they come out with, but we often for get about the content. I mean really what are we teaching kids these days. Is it that it’s ok to struggle? Is that if you do what I did you can get where I am? I myself have been into the drug scene and I have been shot at. To be honest it’s not cool! I’d like to see hip-hop take an old school perspective. When the music talked about where they came from and where they are going. Actually showing the “then” and “now.” yTank, in my opinion embodies that entirely, but with a new school feel. This is a young man who takes his lyrical talent to another level. 

Born Darrell Thomas and representing South Street Portsmouth, Virginia, Tank has waded through a fierce lifestyle of getting into trouble and staying that way in search for an outlet to unleash the anger of watching his mom struggle and work three jobs to make ends meet. While he felt helpless in his efforts to bring his family out of the struggle, he soon discovered his passion: MUSIC. His stress transformed into a work of art that he carried with him from street battles, to talent shows, to the studio and ultimately to becoming elite amongst his peers. The complexity and creativity of his thoughts offer a tour through the mind of this upcoming lyricists and mind-blowing punch lines that show and prove that he is not a force to messed with.
